VMS Academic Reports
No Child Left Behind requires states and school districts to give parents easy-to-read, detailed report cards on schools and districts, telling them which ones are succeeding and why. Included in the report cards are student achievement data broken out by race, ethnicity, gender, English language proficiency, migrant status, disability status and low-income status; as well as important information about the professional qualifications of teachers. With these provisions, No Child Left Behind ensures that parents have important, timely information about the schools their children attend—whether they are performing well or not for all children, regardless of their background.

What is AYP?
The No Child Left Behind (N546CLB) Act calls for all students to meet the proficient level of performance in literacy and mathematics by the end of the 2013-2014 school year. In the intervening years, schools must make adequate yearly progress (AYP) towards meeting that goal. In Arkansas, schools must make AYP on the state’s Benchmark and End-of-Course Exams each year. The Benchmark exams are administered to students in Grades 3-8, while the End-of-Course Exams are administered for Algebra I and geometry.
What is AIP?
AIP is an academic improvement plan that is developed to help students that do not score proficent or above on either the literacy or mathematics benchmark exam.
